In today\u2019s economy, a talent would be worth about a million dollars.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Jesus is going to use this story to convince us of one simple principle \u2013 <\/span><b>Don\u2019t Bury Your Talent!<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Don\u2019t Bury Your Talent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on the foolish pretense that God is hard.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Don\u2019t Bury Your Talent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> because you\u2019re afraid you\u2019re not good enough.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Don\u2019t Bury Your Talent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to punish God because you don\u2019t think he gave you enough.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Don\u2019t Bury Your Talent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> because you lazily think working for God will cause you to miss out.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Instead,\u00a0<b>Faithfully Steward God\u2019s Blessings!<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Scripture Passage:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Matthew 25:14-30 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Matt-25-14\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cFor\u00a0it will be like a man\u00a0going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24020\" class=\"text Matt-25-15\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>To one he gave five\u00a0talents,\u00a0to another two, to another one,\u00a0to each according to his ability. Then he\u00a0went away.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24021\" class=\"text Matt-25-16\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24022\" class=\"text Matt-25-17\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>So also he who had the two talents made two talents more.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24023\" class=\"text Matt-25-18\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>But he who had received the one talent went and\u00a0dug in the ground and hid his master&#8217;s money.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-24024\" class=\"text Matt-25-19\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>Now\u00a0after a long time the master of those servants came and\u00a0settled accounts with them.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24025\" class=\"text Matt-25-20\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, \u2018Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.\u2019<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24026\" class=\"text Matt-25-21\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21\u00a0<\/sup>His master said to him, \u2018Well done, good and\u00a0faithful servant.\u00a0You have been faithful over a little;\u00a0I will set you over much. Enter into\u00a0the joy of your master.\u2019<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24027\" class=\"text Matt-25-22\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22\u00a0<\/sup>And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, \u2018Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.\u2019<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24028\" class=\"text Matt-25-23\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23\u00a0<\/sup>His master said to him, \u2018Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your master.\u2019<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24029\" class=\"text Matt-25-24\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24\u00a0<\/sup>He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, \u2018Master, I knew you to be\u00a0a hard man, reaping\u00a0where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24030\" class=\"text Matt-25-25\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25\u00a0<\/sup>so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here,\u00a0you have what is yours.\u2019<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-24031\" class=\"text Matt-25-26\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26\u00a0<\/sup>But his master answered him, \u2018You\u00a0wicked and\u00a0slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24032\" class=\"text Matt-25-27\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27\u00a0<\/sup>Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24033\" class=\"text Matt-25-28\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24034\" class=\"text Matt-25-29\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-24035\" class=\"text Matt-25-30\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>And\u00a0cast\u00a0the worthless servant into the outer darkness.
