John tells them that Jesus is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prophet<\/li>\n<li>Priest<\/li>\n<li>King<\/li>\n<li>God<\/li>\n<li>Savior<\/li>\n<li>Judge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He encourages us that <strong>all we need is Jesus<\/strong> to endure hardship.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Scripture Passage:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Revelation 1:1-20 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-1\"><span class=\"text Rev-1-1\">The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God\u00a0gave him\u00a0to show to his servants\u00a0the things that must soon take place.\u00a0He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30684\" class=\"text Rev-1-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>who bore witness to the word of God and to\u00a0the testimony of Jesus Christ, even\u00a0to all that he saw.<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-30685\" class=\"text Rev-1-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it,\u00a0for the time is near.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Rev-1-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>John to the seven churches that are in Asia:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Rev-1-4\">Grace to you and peace from\u00a0him\u00a0who is and\u00a0who was and who is to come, and from\u00a0the seven spirits who are before his throne,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30687\" class=\"text Rev-1-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>and from Jesus Christ\u00a0the faithful witness,\u00a0the firstborn of the dead, and\u00a0the ruler of kings on earth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Rev-1-5\">To\u00a0him who loves us and\u00a0has freed us from our sins by his blood<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30688\" class=\"text Rev-1-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>and made us\u00a0a kingdom,\u00a0priests to\u00a0his God and Father, to him be\u00a0glory and\u00a0dominion forever and ever. Amen.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30689\" class=\"text Rev-1-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>Behold,\u00a0he is coming with the clouds, and\u00a0every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail\u00a0on account of him. Even so. Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-30690\" class=\"text Rev-1-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega,\u201d says the Lord God,\u00a0\u201cwho is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Rev-1-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>I, John, your brother and\u00a0partner in\u00a0the tribulation and\u00a0the kingdom and\u00a0the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos\u00a0on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30692\" class=\"text Rev-1-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>I was in the Spirit\u00a0on the Lord&#8217;s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice\u00a0like a trumpet<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30693\" class=\"text Rev-1-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>saying,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cWrite what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-30694\" class=\"text Rev-1-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw\u00a0seven golden lampstands,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30695\" class=\"text Rev-1-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>and in the midst of the lampstands\u00a0one like\u00a0a son of man,\u00a0clothed with a long robe and\u00a0with a golden sash around his chest.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30696\" class=\"text Rev-1-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow.\u00a0His eyes were like a flame of fire,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30697\" class=\"text Rev-1-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and\u00a0his voice was like the roar of many waters.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30698\" class=\"text Rev-1-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>In his right hand he held seven stars,\u00a0from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and\u00a0his face was like the sun shining\u00a0in full strength.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-30699\" class=\"text Rev-1-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17\u00a0<\/sup>When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But\u00a0he laid his right hand on me,\u00a0saying,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cFear not,\u00a0I am the first and the last,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30700\" class=\"text Rev-1-18\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18\u00a0<\/sup>and the living one.\u00a0I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and\u00a0I have the keys of Death and Hades.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30701\" class=\"text Rev-1-19\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19\u00a0<\/sup>Write therefore\u00a0the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30702\" class=\"text Rev-1-20\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20\u00a0<\/sup>As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and\u00a0the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and\u00a0the seven lampstands are the seven
