However, they have a deeper lesson for us to learn:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Return to Your First Love!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In other words, return to your heart-felt commitment of loving Christ<\/p>\n<p>How?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember<\/li>\n<li>Repent<\/li>\n<li>Resume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Scripture Passage:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Revelation 2:1-7 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-1\"><span class=\"text Rev-2-1\"><span class=\"woj\">\u201cTo the angel of the church in Ephesus write: \u2018The words of\u00a0him who holds the seven stars in his right hand,\u00a0who walks among the seven golden lampstands.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-30704\" class=\"text Rev-2-2\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>\u201c\u2018I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but\u00a0have tested those\u00a0who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30705\" class=\"text Rev-2-3\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up\u00a0for my name&#8217;s sake, and you\u00a0have not grown weary.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30706\" class=\"text Rev-2-4\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>But I have this against you, that you have abandoned\u00a0the love you had at first.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30707\" class=\"text Rev-2-5\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do\u00a0the works you did at first. If not,\u00a0I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-30708\" class=\"text Rev-2-6\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>Yet this you have: you hate the works of\u00a0the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30709\" class=\"text Rev-2-7\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.\u00a0To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of\u00a0the tree of life,
