They were lowly and faithful. And Faithful living leads to persecution.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, Christ gives us resources to face persecution. These resources are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have an eternal God<\/li>\n<li>We have a sovereign God<\/li>\n<li>We have a resurrected Lord<\/li>\n<li>We have a truthful God<\/li>\n<li>We have a victorious God<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Scripture Passage:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Revelation 2:8-11 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Rev-2-8\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cAnd to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: \u2018The words of\u00a0the first and the last,\u00a0who died and came to life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-30711\" class=\"text Rev-2-9\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>\u201c\u2018I know your tribulation and\u00a0your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander\u00a0of\u00a0those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30712\" class=\"text Rev-2-10\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison,\u00a0that you may be tested, and for\u00a0ten days\u00a0you will have tribulation.\u00a0Be faithful\u00a0unto death, and I will give you\u00a0the crown of life.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-ESV-30713\" class=\"text Rev-2-11\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>He who has an ear, let him hear what the
