Kevin Houser

Kevin grew up in Huntsville Ontario and has always enjoyed the outdoors. After dropping out of university and slipping into the punk scene in the Kitchener area, Kevin came to know Jesus as his Lord and Saviour at the age of 24, and almost immediately felt God’s calling to serve overseas. In preparation for this calling, he went back to university to finish his undergraduate degree, then went to Tyndale Seminary for a Master of Divinity in Missions. Later, he attended Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY and completed a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching with the express desire of building up God’s people.
Kevin has served in cross-cultural settings as a pastor for 25 years, including 10 years in Chile, 4 years in south Texas, and 11 years among Chinese churches in Toronto. He came on staff at Chinese Gospel Church in the summer of 2019 as the lead downtown English Pastor and loves the downtown Toronto vibe. He is committed to passionate expository preaching that aims to move the heart and bring God-glorifying change. He gets most excited when preaching, mentoring, or helping to set a vision for God’s people.
Kevin and Shawna have 3 adult daughters. His pastimes are hiking and birdwatching.
